T/Sgt Lamar Morgan is my father-in-law and I'm trying to help him find out about members of his air crew. He was in the 71st and remembers his pilot was Leland F. Cadenhead, others in crew were Tovio Johnson and a man named Thomashoff (doesn't recall first name. He did not give me anyother names. If there is someone out there who can fill in some or all of these blanks, on his behalf, We'd be very grateful.

I am looking for information for my Uncle Farris A Kennon Jr. (Bo). He was in the 38th BG 70th BS and was a tailgunner on a B-26. He passed away in January 1973. He didn't talk much about his time in the AAF but I know he was a hero for just being there. I would love to get some pictures of the plane he flew in, his crew and any other info that anyone may have. Everyone that flew n a B-26 were heros to me and you all did such a great job in the Pacific Theater. Mike Smith of the B26.com website found his name on the 70th BS history but that is all I have. Here is a picture of him. I have a picture of him if anyone would like to have a copy. I also posted a picture on B26.com.
Looking for anyone who knew or has information regarding Bombardier John P Ellis of the 70th bomb squad. I am his grandson. He passed 20 years ago and while we were very close, during my youth he spoke of his experiences very rarely. I am trying to document as much of his experience as possible for my family. He is listed in the history of the 70th as serving on b-26# 41 17569 with Lieutenants Harold Miller, Conrad Ray, and Edward Brinskelle as well as Leo Savitski, Gillis Hanson, Ferrel Lawrence and Pvt Smith. It would also be incredibly helpful if anyone knew the wereabouts of Conrad (Connie) Ray's diary which is a main source for the history of the 70th. Lt. Ray would have served just feet from my grandfather and as such that diary could have entries which could prove priceless for my family. Thank you much for any help in advance. My cell number is below. Clay Fisher 646 460 1310
I was born in August 1946, the oldest son of M/Sgt John S. Diehl, 38th BG, 405th BS. Dad enlisted in Jan/41, arrived in Australia in Feb/42, departed New Guinea in Oct/44, and was discharged in Sep/45. For all his duty in Pacific, Dad was the Armorer for B-25 Filthy Lil in 405th. Crew Chief for Filthy Lil was Glen L. Martin during that time period. Both men came from small towns less than 100 miles apart in southwestern Pennsylvania and worked together for more than 2 years keeping Filthy Lil ready for the next mission. Dad was promoted to Chief Armorer of 405th in early 1944 when M/Sgt Herby Hayles (spelling?) was injured. Dad passed away Sep 2007 at age 89.
My father is a proud veteran and always talking with great detail about his expeerience in WW II. We need more people like all of you veterans and appreciate all your efforts and those of our current servicemen protecting us throughout the world today. If anyone who knows my dad please e mail me and I hope I have the opportunity to have you talk with him in person at the 2010 reunion. Thank all veterans for their service Richard Gaeto

The Poltrack family had 4 members directly involved in the war. My father served in the Army, my uncle Francis served in the Marine Corp and was killed at Peleliu Island, my aunt served in the Waves and my uncle Ed was a pilot in the 823rd Bomb Squad. I didn't know too much about my family's experiences because this generation did not talk about the war. My father and aunt have passed on, but Ed is retired and living in North Carolina. Through a chance Google search I have discovered this website and found a bit a history about my uncle. It would nice to learn a bit about the rest of the crew and the missions so I'm including a link to my blog that has a picture. In the picture the crew is identified as Lt Taylor, Lt Colwell, Sgt Ellard, S/Sgt Taylor and Sgt Crawford. The link to this posting is: http://blog.poltrack.net/2009/07/823rd-bomb-squad-terrible-tigers.html
Are there any known photographs of "Tee-kay," a B-25G (unknown serial number) that flew with the 823rd BS? There is a portrait of this plane in the book, "B-25 in Action," published by Squadron/Signal in 1978, and I'm trying to locate an actual photograph of it to determine the accuracy of the portrait. I've tried searching this wonderful website to no avail, but will admit that there are so many articles and documents that I might have overlooked something. Any information would be most helpful. I also want to take this opportunity to thank all the veterans of the 38th BG for their service and sacrifice. I'm thankful that this website is around so that I can learn more about the Group's history and its contributions to victory in WWII. Best Regards, Mark
I am looking for anyone that may have known my dad Louis Nevola. I believe he was in the 822nd. He was transfered to this group sometime in early may of 45 at Okinawa.

2nd Lt. Edward H. Morrison is reported KIA under 70th BS in this site, does anyone know what led to his death/date of death? Does anyone has a photo of him? From what US State was he? A book detailing the history of 42nd Bomb Squadron (which was joined by 70th BS in 1943) mentionedin Chapter 5 that Lt. Morrison joined the 70th BS mid October 1941. Was the book referring to Edward H. Morrison? I was rather confused since later in the book a certain Lt. William D. Morrison from New York (also under 70th BS?) was mentioned. When an accident happened in December 1942, when the main landing gear of plane no. 64, collapsed, was it Lt. Edward H. Morrison in the plane? The website www.web-birds.com has a group picture of the officers of 70th BS in Fiji. Below the picture is the name "Morrison" (no. 23), was he Edward H. Morrison? Anyone who has a clearer photo of 2nd Lt. Edward H. Morrison? Hope my questions will be answered. You may email me at poncecd@yahoo.com . Thanks a lot. Cris "REMEMBERING OUR HEROES"

Yap Ialand had 80,000 by-passed Japanese soldiers and was a target for many strikes by the 13th and 5th Air Force I'm interested in any information about missions to Yap Island. If you have any Yap related information, please send me an email at pat@missingaircrew.com . I'm currently searching for and documenting all the American losses on missions to Yap. You can view information and my research at http://www.missingaircrew.com/yap/yapmissions.asp . My uncle was lost over Yap on June 25, 1944 in a B-24 with the 307th Bomb Group. Thanks, -Pat
