Lt. Edward Poltrack - 823rd Bomb Squad

The Poltrack family had 4 members directly involved in the war. My father served in the Army, my uncle Francis served in the Marine Corp and was killed at Peleliu Island, my aunt served in the Waves and my uncle Ed was a pilot in the 823rd Bomb Squad. I didn't know too much about my family's experiences because this generation did not talk about the war. My father and aunt have passed on, but Ed is retired and living in North Carolina.

Through a chance Google search I have discovered this website and found a bit a history about my uncle. It would nice to learn a bit about the rest of the crew and the missions so I'm including a link to my blog that has a picture. In the picture the crew is identified as Lt Taylor, Lt Colwell, Sgt Ellard, S/Sgt Taylor and Sgt Crawford.The link to this posting is:
